קלוד נולד ביוני 1963, במונטריאול שבקנדה. יש לו רקע בהוקי, ג'ודו, קרטה, כדור-בסיס וסקי. בגיל 16 התחיל להתאמן עם משקולות, בגיל 18 הוא החל להתעניין בפיתוח הגוף, בעקבות התערבות עם חבר שכבר עסק בתחום, והתערב אתו שהוא (קלוד) לא יחזיק מעמד שבוע באימונים.

את כרטיב ה"מקצוען" קיבל בשנת 1994. ב-1996 עבר ללוס אנג'לס, וב-1998 עבר למיאמי, שם הוא חי כיום.

הוא בעל חברת הלבשה, ומאמן אישי.
