Remember, number needed to treat addresses how many people had to take the drug to spare just one person a cardiac event.Heart attack alone 241 people had to take Crestor for 1.9 years to spare one person a heart attack.Stroke alone, 288 people had to take crestor for 1.9 years to save one person from a stroke.Combined Heart attack, stroke, or death from cardiovascular causes NNT=120 people for almost 2 years for just one person to benefit. Those are the hardcore actual numbers from th JUPITER TRIAL. Of course after some "math" the NNT score for the trial is reported at only 25.
