Hi everyone,
I've just come back 2 days ago from my best PL experience I ever had!
Even though my lifts were pretty crap (4/9) I'm still very happy that I didn't missed the opportunity to compete with the best of the best.
My PR's were:
SQ 205x1 (Dimona) and 192.5x4 (Gym)
BP 130x1 (Dimona) 130x2 w/ pause (Gym)
DL 212.5 (Dimona) 207.5x2 (Gym)
Unfortunately, only in DL I got another lift other then the opener:
SQ 190, 207.5f, 207.5f
BP 125, 135f, 135f
DL 200, 220, 225f
There is SHITLOAD of excuses to be said about why I didn't do as well as I've expected, but that doesn't interest anyone and doesn't matter now. The next goal is to hit 580+ Total at least in Dimona, while next week I'm starting Glenn Pendlay mostly because I feel I do best with VOLUME, and I have weird shitty fail in the mid of my squat which needed to be fixed, speed and assistance didn't worked well in 5/3/1 now I'll go back to basics, simply squat, a lot.
The level of the lifters over there was simply amazing, I though that just the international lifters will be the stars of the event but almost every category the fight was on.
In my category (82.5kg) the 2nd place totalled 630~ and the 1st 655! ( 225/162.5 WPC WR/275) and equalled WR or Aussie record...
The 90kg winner totalled 735 (no knee wraps) and the 2nd did 732.5 and almost WR 333 deadlift.
thats just the light categories, they still have juniors pulling 330+ and the SHW was of course amazing.
The Aussie lifters were super strong, no doubt a world class PL nation soon to brake more and more WR's.
The guy that produce this amazing event (Wayne Howlett) got injured on 400.5kg squat attempt (125kg category, knee wraps) thats a WR as well! I think if he didn't torn his quads, he would go for 410+
The meeting with all the big names (Lilly, Lilliebridge, The Ant, Odell Manuel, Byrd, Magnusson etc.) was also amazing, in the warm up area you are expose to speed and strength which I never saw, like Lilliebridge "speed squat" 220 and 270 make them bounce 20cm in the air (seriously) also a lot of regular 300+ kg warm ups which you dont believe!
All of the guys including the international, were super-nice and friendly, we had some really nice talks and who knows maybe one of them will come to Israel to promote PL around here.
It was an amazing thing to do and I'll do that again hopefully next year no doubt...
